Okay so today saw the launch of Google Goggles on the iPhone. Searching with Google on your iPhone can be an eye-opening experience. Now your phone’s camera can even help to find out more about the world around you…

Google Mobile App with Google Goggles is now available in the Apple App Store. Just search for “Google Mobile App” and download the latest version – it’s free. It will gradually be appearing in all App Stores around the world starting from today.

Simply take a picture of an object and Google Goggles will give you more info about the image. Alternatively speak into your phone and the app will delivery the relevant content for you. This is going to revolutionise the way in which we search for content

My housemate Charlie says, “It’s ledge”.

Many of my girl friends on Facebook have been posting status’ like so…

For those with dirty minds, this might come as a  disappointed to find out that the “I Like It on Facebook” and other “I Like It” status updates of many women around the world are not actually about “sex” but is actually an advocacy campaign for breast cancer awareness. I was one such person who was intrigued enough to research…These women are actually answering the question, “Where do you like to put your purse?”, an excellent campaign for a very worthy cause.

A coffee cup in zero gravity. In use, it can be placed vertically; not in use, can be tilted in place, as if in a weightless state. Amazing.

Awesome guerrilla marketing stunt for the new Mini Cooper Clubman. I don’t like the car, but I love the stunt!

Awesome ambient advertising for Schweppes lemonade. Also love The Inbetweeners music.

This is such a brilliant idea, one of those ones things that I wish I had thought of.

The Coca Cola Village is a special summer experiential event in Israel, in 2010, that harnessed the power of Facebook. Teenagers needed to collect 10 Coca Cola caps each, then gather eight Facebook friends (who also did the same) and then register online through Facebook to gain exclusive entry.

When they got to the Coca Cola Village, they were asked to setup a special wrist band that would securely hold their Facebook login / password to swipe when starting each activity.

Every time you swiped, it instantly updated your status with what you were doing at the event, keeping your friends up to date in real time.

The wrist band also allowed automatic tagging of all the photos taken at the Coca Cola Village. The event held 650 teenagers a day, and with the seamless Facebook integration, they generated 35,000+ posts every day for the three days totaling over 100,000 posts for the event!

So this has just won NMA’s campaign of the month.

Barclays are trying to improve teenagers’ understanding of banking. They want to educate them about direct debits, loans, statements, fraud avoidance and general money management. They’d had some success with an educational board game but needed to reach a wider audience.

As a avid Grand Theft auto player this game immediately appeals to me, and I have been playing it for a few hours this evening.

I enjoyed the explorative nature of the advergame, however can’t help but feel its a touch slow paced. Still it managed to keep my attention (but that isn’t difficult). Have a look and see what you think…

Saw this a few weeks back, and I thought it was such a simple yet effective idea. Hit refresh and maybe win a prize, simple as that.

I really like this idea, of merging ‘old’ and ‘new’ media.

paper.li organizes links shared on Twitter into an easy to read newspaper-style format. Newspapers can be created for any Twitter user, list or #tag.

A great way to stay on top of all that is shared by the people you follow – even if you are not connected 24/7! I wasn’t able to check twitter today, so I logged on and had a read of the Thomas Gooday Daily this evening to catch up with whats happening online.

Feel free to check in on my online paper http://paper.li/tomgooday

A pedestrian crossing was transformed into a portion of fries for three days in July this year in Zurich, Switzerland, providing an excellent way to connect with passing pedestrians. Awesome ambient campaign that undoubtedly increased sales.
