Ever wanted to create your very own Wallace and Gromit character, well now you can. The Royal Mail has just launched a major digital campaign dedicated to its Wallace and Gromit Christmas stamps. The ‘create yourself’ tools allows users to construct a character in the notorious clay style.
Once a user has finished their character they are sent an email containing a link to a high-resolution image. The character can then be shared across social networks from the site.
Here’s my attempt…
Good fun. I wish you could actually use it as a stamp though…
Barclays are trying to improve teenagers’ understanding of banking. They want to educate them about direct debits, loans, statements, fraud avoidance and general money management. They’d had some success with an educational board game but needed to reach a wider audience.
As a avid Grand Theft auto player this game immediately appeals to me, and I have been playing it for a few hours this evening.
I enjoyed the explorative nature of the advergame, however can’t help but feel its a touch slow paced. Still it managed to keep my attention (but that isn’t difficult). Have a look and see what you think…
A pedestrian crossing was transformed into a portion of fries for three days in July this year in Zurich, Switzerland, providing an excellent way to connect with passing pedestrians. Awesome ambient campaign that undoubtedly increased sales.
Saw this and it made me chuckle. People who drive a Volkswagen are apparently more well endowed than Porsche owners. Or that’s at least what these images are implying. I am not sure if this is an official campaign, or just a stunt done by a Volkswagen enthusiast, funny though!
This is definitely the best ever 404 page. If you don’t know what a 404 page is, it basically the page that displays if you have the URL you have typed is wrong…
This kept me entertained for a few hours today!
If you don’t this is funny, watch this video and it will all start to make sense.
I remember a couple of years ago 2 guys at our Summerball in Bournemouth dressed up as Facebook. That was a great idea for a fancy dress, I never thought that it could be transferred to a campaign. (Apologies for the drunken photo of me)
Diesel has created a social event called Facepark, a live event where thousands turned up to create an analog version of Facebook, simulating pretty much everything you can do on Facebook in a physical format, starting with every guest receiving a profile cut-out on arrival that would become your analog wall for the day! Very very cool!
Text to a number. Wait for 20 minutes or thereabouts. Watch a bunch of busy bees change letters so as to broadcast your text. Celebrate having the biggest mother of a text message. Propose to your girlfriend while you’re at it. Tell your boss you think he is a bastard. Promise to not whine like a woman butch again.
Thai artist Wit Pimkanchanapong presented The World’s Slowest SMS Billboard over the weekend at The Night Festival in Singapore curated by TheatreWorks’ Ong Keng Sen. We need more festivals like these in Singapore. For once, I felt culture in this country.
